DAY SAILS, COURSES & ADVENTURES

 

All day sails and courses have a maximum  of 3 students, to keep the quality of the experience high.
They run with a minimum of two and singles may be grouped together.
Private sessions for singles or groups of friends can be arranged.

5% GST will be added upon Payment.

Day Sail

  • Intro to sailing : $240 per person (7.5hrs) 9.30 am to 5 pm

Learn the basics of Boat Handling under Power and Sail. Be introduced to Navigation at sea. 

 

  • Advanced day sail : $240 per person (7.5hrs) 9.30 am to 5 pm 

Learn and practice the skills to enjoy the Squamish winds.

Reefing, Heaving to, Sail trim, flying Spinnakers, Docking, Anchoring and more.

  • Half Day sail : $175 per person (4hrs)

  • Sunset Sail: 5.30-8.30pm : $100 per person (3hrs) 

 

  • Private group day sail : $675 full day / $425 half day (can be a group of 4 friends) 

IYT CERTIFICATIONS

  • IYT International Crew : Day Sailing $1050 / Liveaboard, from $1550 per person / 5 days

                                                         (Subtract $50 for Salty Season, September 20 to May 20)

Alternative options: 4 Day condensed $900 / 6 Day Liveaboard $1700 / 2 Day Sails & 3 Day Liveaboard combined $1400

                                                                                                                

3 students maximum on board allows for lots of hands experience and instruction. 

Prerequisites - None, though prior sailing or boating experience is an asset. 

The goal of this course is to safely introduce you to the cruising lifestyle. By the end of the 5 days you should feel like a confident and capable crew member on any sailboat up to 50'.

Many skills will be taught in a professional and calm environment, such as basic boat handling, sail trim, navigation and onboard safety.

You will gain an International Yacht Training certificate. This is the first step in becoming a certified recreational skipper and the ICC (International Certificate of Competency) allowing you to charter boats in exotic locations and take out club boats locally.

  • International Bareboat Skipper  & ICC : from $1800 ​per person / 6 days 

        (Bareboat certificate included / if ICC certificate is required + $100)

Prerequisites - VHF Maritime Radio Operators certificate. 200nm logged and 10 days at sea. 

A Coastal Navigation course is recommended (details upon inquiry)

At this level successful students will gain the IYT International Bareboat Skipper & ICC standard. The main goal of the course is for students to feel confident enough to skipper A boat themselves. The ICC (International Certificate of Competency) is needed to charter boats in destinations such as the Caribbean or Mediterranean. A few of the key skills covered are as follows: 

Crew management and Safe Seamanship. 

Advanced boat handling under power and sail. 

Safe docking techniques. 

Anchoring and picking up a mooring. 

Passage planning and Navigation. 

Understanding Weather and Tides. 

Safety checks and understanding boat systems.

 Enhancing the joys of the cruising lifestyle.

6 days liveaboard instruction 7-8hrs per day.

A typical itinerary is: 

Day 1: Squamish to Gibsons

Day 2: Gibsons to Smugglers cove marine park

Day 3: Smugglers cove to Jedediah Island 

Day 4: Jedediah Island to Lasqueti Island

Day 5: Lasqueti Island to Newcastle Island marine Park

Day 6: Newcastle Island to Squamish

Alternative internary: 

Cruise to a destination such as Powell River or Nanaimo and make your own way back. 

CUSTOMIZE YOUR ADVENTURE 

Liveaboard Sailing Adventures: $875 per day for up to 5 days then $800 per day thereafter

(can be a group of 4 friends)

 

Including Food, Accommodation, Fuel, Marinas and the Skipper!
